This year marked the centennial anniversary for International Women's Day.  Over 100 countries participated in events held around the world on March 8th. Though a few countries treat the day as an equivalent to Mother's Day, it was originally created as a day to promote the social and political rights of women. Most countries still use the day for its original intention.

Dancing is a part of nearly all gatherings in Madagascar and International Women's Day was no exception.
Just some of the many women staff at Akany Avoko that provide the love and support the children deserve.
