Some Thirsty Babies Need Your Help

One hungry baby getting stronger and healthier with each bottle.

Babies love to drink. And drink. And drink. Since our children no longer have their mothers with them, we must provide them the best alternative to breast milk--baby formula. This is an expensive prospect even in the developed world and here it is even worse.

The expense is exaggerated right now by the fact that we have more babies living at Akany than we have had in years. There are 8 babies that need formula every day. Eight lovely, hungry babies.

The cost for the baby formula is about 140 GBP ( 225 USD, 166 EUR) a week. I repeat: a week. To put that into perspective, a cleaning woman working 6 days a week earns about 25 GBP a month.

If you would like to help us with this substantial expense, please visit the donation page at our website to make an online donation with Money for Madagascar. For other methods of donating, please send Chad Lebo an email at akany.avoko@moov.mg. Please include "Baby Formula" in the subject. If you do make a donation, please send an email and include the amount and type of currency, so that we may keep a proper tally of the funds raised for this specific project.

Thank you all so much for helping with this important need.

And don't forget to check the thermometer on the front page to see the progress of the fund raising.

Eat, sleep, eat, sleep, eat, sleep...
Passed out after a good feeding.
Bibbed up and ready for a drink.
One of the eight babies who arrived malnourished and is now happy and healthy.
Two more lucky ones.
Plenty of room to play in the nursery...when not eating and sleeping.
Preparing the next meal.
